A community meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at Grace Chinese Baptist Church (850 Broad Street Road) to review proposed amendments to the Mixed Use Plan Development that is generally known as Manakin Towne.
The applicants are requesting to amend the conditions of the original rezoning and conditional use permit approvals.
This community meeting is an important step in the application process. The applicant/developer will present the proposed development and requested amendments. It's the community's first opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback. County representatives will be in attendance to listen to community feedback, concerns and recommendations. As part of this information session, county staff will prepare a formal Staff Report that reflects community input. This Staff Report is presented to the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors when the applicant's request is considered at subsequent public meetings.
Citizens can also share their thoughts through email and calls. Further details about the application timeline, communication methods, and additional public hearing opportunities will be provided by the applicant and county representatives at the March 6th meeting.

The Goochland Board of Supervisors ended the Centerville Small Area Plan revision by unanimously voting to deny its adoption on October 4, 2023. The proposed plan did not reflect the community's vision and values. We continue to encourage community engagement and discourse to improve and protect our quality of life. We will take what we learned from this process to help our citizens choose how we can best grow as a community.
For context, here is the chronology of the village planning initiative.
